The Iwaki FC academy, run by Iwaki Sports Club, fields U-18 and U-15 sides. Under mottoes of “raising all-round athletes” and “changing Japan’s physical standard,” it develops players around strength, with a combine-style selection.
Club overview
Iwaki FC, based in Iwaki, Fukushima, rose quickly on a physicality-first, high-intensity identity backed by a sporting-goods group. That identity carries into the academy.
It centres on a high-school-age U-18 and a junior-high U-15, emphasising athletic foundations through its sports-athletics academy.
Academy structure
The academy develops players while sharing the first team’s philosophy.
| Category | Age | League (example) |
|---|---|---|
| U-18 | High-school age | Fukushima/Tohoku U-18 leagues (aiming for Prince) |
| U-15 | Junior-high age | Prince Takamado JFA U-15 Michinoku Tohoku League |
For U-18, it uses a combine-style assessment alongside selection, prioritising athletic ability and potential.

Development philosophy
The backbone is the club-wide idea of “changing Japan’s physical standard” and “raising all-round athletes.” Rather than narrow technique, it emphasises running, jumping and throwing to produce players who win duels — a clear concept giving a young club its identity.
Notable graduates & pathway
As the club turned fully professional only recently, graduate output is still building. The physicality-first approach ties directly to a first team known for cup giant-killings. Future pathways are tracked in SportsPulse’s youth records DB.
