The quick version

Jubilo Iwata’s academy, based in football heartland Iwata (Shizuoka), fields U-18, U-15 and U-12 sides as a distinguished development body. It has sent many players to the first team and clubs at home and abroad, headlined by Hiroki Ito, a Japan international defender playing in Europe, along with Hiroki Yamada and Koki Ogawa.

Club overview

Jubilo Iwata, based in Iwata, Shizuoka, is a storied J.League club that built a golden era in the league’s early years. Rooted in football heartland Shizuoka, its academy has long fielded high-level age-group teams on the back of a deep local playing population.

The academy shares the first team’s philosophy and, through a technique- and tactics-focused pathway, aims to produce players who can compete on the world stage.

Academy structure

The academy has a three-tier structure topped by the U-18, supported by U-15 and U-12 sides. Based mainly in western Shizuoka, it develops players continuously from junior ages to the U-18 tier directly below the first team.

  • U-18: competes in the upper tiers of the Prince Takamado JFA U-18 league and appears in the Japan Club Youth Championship.
  • U-15: junior-youth development based within Shizuoka.
  • U-12: youngest-age development linked to schools and grassroots work.

Divisions change season to season; confirm current details on the official site.
