The Japan Talent Database

By SportsPulse Editorial Team|Updated June 10, 2026|Editorial reviewEditorial policy ›

One place to understand the next generation of Japanese sport — a public, editorial index of the players, the boards that track them, and the system that produces them. Built on public information, for fans, scouts and clubs.

What this is

The Japan Talent Database is our editorial intelligence index of Japanese sporting talent — not an agency and not a contact list. It brings our scouting boards and development guides into one place, draws only on public information about public, professional athletes, and treats under-18s with strict care: editorial context only, never personal contact data. This is Phase 1 — the public index and the rules it runs on.

The index

Four living boards, one entry point — start here and follow the talent across all three sports.

How it’s built — and the rules

The database’s value is its trustworthiness, so the method comes first. This is the standard everything in it must meet:

Our safeguarding & data standard

PUBLIC INFORMATION · PUBLIC PROFESSIONALS · MINORS PROTECTED
  • Public information only. Everything is drawn from public reporting and official club, league and federation sources — never private or scraped personal data.
  • Public professionals first. Profiles centre on adult professional athletes who are already public figures.
  • Minors: editorial context only. For under-18s we publish editorial commentary and aggregate context — never contact details, precise personal data, agent services, lead generation or paid introductions.
  • Location to prefecture. Any development geography is kept no finer than prefecture level.
  • Right to correction & removal. Anyone featured, or their guardian, can ask us to correct or remove an entry.
  • Legal-review gate. Any structured database of under-18 talent is deferred pending Japanese sports-law and data-protection review (FIFA RSTP Art. 19, FFAR, GDPR Art. 8, Japan’s APPI).

In five lines

  • The Japan Talent Database is an editorial intelligence index — not an agency or contact list.
  • It unifies four boards: the Watchlist, Future NBA Japan, Future Japanese F1 Drivers, and Japan Next 50.
  • It uses public information about public, professional athletes.
  • Under-18s get editorial context only — never personal contact data, ever.
  • Phase 1 is live; structured profiles and tools follow, with a legal-review gate on any minor data.
A note on this page: Phase 1 is a public, editorial index. It deliberately contains no personal contact information and no services connecting third parties to minors. The safeguarding standard above governs every board it links to.
